What are the products on this website? 

The trousers on this website are so called "New Old Stock", meaning they're brand new, but have remained in storage and were never sold for a long time (sometimes 20 years). The models of the trousers are therefore also timeless. They're not prone to fashion shifts as they have a classic cut that will stand the test of time. And almost all trousers on this website are pure wool, which has many amazing qualities.

What's so special about wool?

Wool is primarily a very comfortable fabric to wear. Unlike most synthetic fibers, wool breathes exceptionally well, which means one is less likely to overheat. At the same time, wool is an exceptionally good insulator, making a pair of woolen trousers a perfect companion for colder days. 

Wool, even when soaking wet, can retain up to 80% of its insulative value. This means they will still be warm, even if you're caught in the rain. Another great quality of wool is its natural fire resistance; making them a safe option if you're near a fireplace, for example. 

Additionally, wool is naturally biodegradable, meaning they will desintegrate when discarded - hopefully after many, many years of love and wear - which reduces landfill.

Some anecdotal evidence of these incredible properties can be found in historical wear. For example, desert bedouins would dress themselves in large cloaks of woolen cloths to protect themselves from the extreme heat and sun of the desert days, as well as the intense cold at night. Or, for example, the traditional great kilt worn in Scotland, which protected against the damp cold of the Scottish highlands.
